| Huh, now that I read the article where I got the previous link, I see she wrote some stuff up about 3 and 4 monitors. You'll find the article in her latest newsletter. But, before you click the link, it's a brand spanking new newsletter and doesn't appear in the list as I'm writing this, so I'll post an excerpt here. If you're really interested, check back to the above link later because the article contains some links that will add greater detail. Here's what she says: DOUBLE VISION NOT ENOUGH? CONNECT A THIRD MONITOR! I received a call last weekend from Matt in Augusta, GA. He read my article on dual-monitor setups. But his wife would like to take things a step further and add a third monitor. Wow! You must be really good at multitasking! Either that, or you're working with large graphics. Fortunately, there is a way to add three monitors to your computer. There are a few video cards that have a third output. Matrox makes them. They start at $235 with 64 MB of memory. That's pricey. You'll also find video cards with four outputs. These are made by Matrox, Colorgraphic and NVIDIA. ATI also plans to offer them. The cheapest price I saw was $415 with 64MB of memory. But you can simply add a second video card to your computer. That is, if you have an empty PCI slot on your computer. You can add a dual-output card or a single output card. Just make sure the connections are right for your monitors. You'll probably need some help managing your multiple monitors. I've got two great free downloads that will help you with just that: Managing multiple monitors with ease Slide show wallpaper for multiple monitors You might also want to learn the basics of setting up your monitor(s) |
